Athletic Director/Facility Rental Coordinator
Brady Days
, 317 485 3160 ext. 2512Mr. Days is a graduate of DeKalb High School and continued his education at Ball State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a minor in Health and a master's degree in School Administration. While at Ball State, he was also a member of the men's basketball program, and spent one year working in the BSU athletics office. Mr. Days began his Athletic leadership career as a varsity boys basketball assistant at Blackford and Mt. Vernon High School before becoming the youngest varsity boys basketball head coach in Indiana, leading the program at Southwestern (Shelby) Jr/Sr High School for 17 seasons. During his tenure, the program won three sectional championships and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2020. He concluded his coaching career as the school's all-time winningest coach. Throughout his coaching career, he was committed to developing student-athletes through hard work, discipline, teamwork, and character. In addition to coaching, Mr. Days served as Athletic Director and Assistant Principal at Southwestern for nine years, gaining valuable experience in athletic administration, school leadership, and program development. He is currently in his fifth year at MVMS as the Athletic Director and Facility rental coordinator, where he is committed to providing outstanding opportunities and experiences for student-athletes and coaches. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with 13 year old daughter Hayden, who attends Carmel Schools and participates in cross country, track, and competitive cheer. They enjoy attending concerts and sporting events together. He is a Colts season ticket holder and enjoys cheerintg on Purdue, Ball State, the Pacers, and cubs. He's proud to be part of the MV athletic program and looks forward to continuing to build a culture of excellence while helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field of play. -
Boys Head Tennis Coach & Girls Head Tennis Coach
Kirk Webber
Coach Webber has been coaching tennis at MVMS since 2025. He is currently the boys and girls tennis coach. He started his tennis coaching career at HSE High School in 2006. After being the boys’ assistant tennis coach at HSE for several years, he became the head coach for both the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams at HSE in 2013. While at HSE, his teams won a combined 13 sectional championships and were consistently ranked in the top 10. In addition to coaching tennis, he also coached freshman basketball at HSE from 2005-2009 and 7th grade basketball from 2010-2013 at HSE JH. Outside of coaching, he has been teaching math at HSE High School since 2005. He'ss a 2001 graduate of Mt. Vernon where he was a 3-sport athlete. He graduated from Indiana University 2005 with a degree in Math Education. His wife of 18 years Brittany have two children, Kinley (14) and Kase (11). Both attend Mt. Vernon and play on the MVMS tennis teams. They also have mini goldendoodle named Chewie. Coach Webber's hobbies include playing tennis, ping pong, basketball, camping, riding bikes with his kids, going on scooter rides, listening to and playing music (guitar, piano, ukulele), watching movies, and taking Chewie on walks. He enjoys all types of musica, but his favorites are Hip-Hop, 90's Rock, Pop, Christian, and Country. He and his extended family spend a week at New Buffalo, Michigan every summer. His favorite sports teams are the Pacers, Colts, Hoosiers, and the Marauders. Coach Webber is very passionate about tennis and loves teaching and coaching players of all levels. He still enjoys playing tennis himself and has been playing USTA tennis for 20+ years. He especially loves how tennis is both physically and mentally challenging and how there are always areas of your game that you can improve. He also enjoys how much fun you can have with a variety of different drills and games. His goal is to spread that same passion and love of the game to his players. -
Head Girls Soccer Coach
Brian Boudouris
Coach Boudouris was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, and is a graduate of Sylvania Northview High School. He continued his education at Indiana Wesleyan University before beginning a career in education and coaching. Coach Boudouris has eight years of girls soccer coaching experience and previously coached 8th-grade boys basketball and 7th-grade football. He is entering his 16th year as a Physical Education teacher at Mt. Comfort Elementary and has been fortunate to coach many outstanding athletes while helping develop even better young people. His coaching journey began at Mt. Vernon, and he is proud to continue serving Marauder student-athletes. Outside of coaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Joanna, and their two children, Levi and Eloise. In his free time, he enjoys running, drinking coffee, and relaxing on his front porch while watching hummingbirds and other birds. Coach Boudouris is excited to continue serving the Mt. Vernon athletic program and looks forward to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field. -

Head Girls Golf Coach
Stephen Day
Coach Day is a graduate of Decatur Central High School and the University of Indianapolis. He currently serves as the music teacher at Mt. Vernon Intermediate School and has been coaching golf at Mt. Vernon Middle School since 2000. During that time, he spent 22 years as the boys golf coach before becoming the inaugural girls golf coach when the program began in 2023. One of the most rewarding aspects of coaching is watching young golfers grow in both their skills and confidence. His goal is to provide student-athletes with a strong foundation in the game of golf while teaching lessons that will benefit them both on and off the course for years to come. Outside of school and coaching, he enjoy golfing, bowling, and spending time with his two dogs, Lucy and Charlie. -

7th Grade Head Girls Basketball Coach
Mark Elsbury
Coach Elsbury is a graduate of Greenfield-Central High School and attended Indiana University and IUPUI. He has been coaching over 50 years and has had the privilege of coaching both boys and girls basketball, as well as baseball. As a student-athlete he played both basketball and baseball. Throughout his coaching career, he coached at Greenfield-Central and Mt. Vernon, where he's been fortunate to work with countless outstanding student-athletes. While wins and championships are memorable, his greatest accomplishment has been watching so many of the young people he has coached grow into successful, responsible adults. Professionally, he has spent more than 30 years working at Eli Lilly before semi-retiring. He is also the co-owner of Mom and Pops (Greenfield). He continues to enjoy coaching because of the relationships with student-athletes and the opportunity to positively impact their lives through athletics. -
8th Grade Head Boys Basketball
John Seward
Coach Seward is a 2002 graduate of Beech Grove High School and began his coaching career in 2012 as a varsity girls basketball assistant coach at Indianapolis Lutheran High School. During his time there, the team captured a sectional championship in 2015. Coach has been a part of the Mt. Vernon basketball program for the past 10 years, serving in a variety of coaching roles, including the boys and girls travel programs, 6th grade girls basketball, and 6th grade boys basketball. He enjoys helping young athletes develop their basketball skills while building confidence, character, and a love for the game. Outside of coaching, Coach works as a Territory Manager for American Metals Supply, where he partners with more than 100 HVAC contractors throughout his territory. Coach Seward and his wife, Kristin, have two daughters, Maci and Harper. In his free time, he enjoys supporting his daughters at their sporting events, spending time with family and friends, and relaxing at the beach. -
6th Grade Head Girls Basketball Coach
Johna Goff
Coach Goff is a 2000 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School where she was an Indiana All Star. She continued her education at Ball State University, where she graduated in 2004 and played collegiate basketball. She has spent the past 20 years coaching basketball at all levels, from recreational programs to the collegiate level. In addition to coaching, Coach Goff is an attorney with Morgan & Morgan. While her professional career has taken her into the legal field, basketball has remained a constant and important part of her life. Coach Goff believes coaching is about much more than the game. She views it as an opportunity to give back to the sport and the school community that played such an important role in shaping her. She especially enjoys helping young athletes develop both on and off the court and finds nothing more rewarding than watching her players set goals, overcome challenges, and ultimately achieve success. Basketball is also a family affair for the Goff family. Her spouse is a high school English teacher at Mt. Vernon and also coaches basketball. Their daughter, Avery, attends Mt. Vernon Middle School and participates in volleyball, basketball, and track. As a family, they can often be found at games, meets, and school events supporting the Mt. Vernon community. -
7th Grade Head Football Coach
Eric Harnish
Coach Harnish is a Wellness teacher at Mt. Vernon and has coached football at Mt. Vernon Middle School since 2018. He began teaching at Mt. Vernon in 2017 and is a Mt. Vernon K-12 graduate from the Class of 2011. He attended Indiana State University. Coach Harnish enjoys introducing the game of football to new players while helping returning players expand and develop their skill sets to prepare them for the next level at Mt. Vernon High School. Outside of school and coaching, he enjoys spending time with his family and being outdoors. His hobbies include hiking, cycling, kayaking, and gardening. He is also a fan of watching and playing all sports, reading, watching history documentaries, and is a big fan of the Indy 500 and all things IndyCar. -

Katherine Buzan
Coach Buzan is a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and proudly continues to give back to the community that helped shape her. She serves as the Head Coach of the Mt. Vernon Middle School swim team and the Head Age Group Coach for Mt. Vernon Premier Aquatics. Coach Buzan has been coaching with Mt. Vernon Premier Aquatics for five years and assumed leadership of the middle school swim team last year. She is passionate about developing young athletes both in and out of the water while creating a positive and competitive environment for swimmers of all ability levels. During her coaching career, she has helped several swimmers qualify for the state championships in individual events. Outside of coaching, she serves as the Attendance Secretary at Mt. Vernon Middle School and also enjoys teaching swim lessons. Mt. Vernon has always been her home away from home, and she is proud to be a Marauder for life. Coach Katie is excited to continue building the tradition of excellence at Mt. Vernon while helping student-athletes reach their full potential in the pool and beyond. -
8th Grade Girls Basketball Coach
Michael Noe
Coach Noe is a lifelong resident of Hancock County and a 1973 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, where he was a four-sport athlete. After high school, he attended Wabash College, where he played football, before transferring to Ball State University. Coach Noe has spent more than three decades coaching youth athletics, including 34 years coaching girls basketball, 25 years as the Mt. Vernon 8th grade head basketball coach, and nine years coaching boys baseball. Over the years, he and his longtime assistant, Mark Weaver, have earned multiple conference titles, as well as several county and invitational tournament championships. Coach Noe retired eight years ago following a 40-year career in the fire protection industry. He and his wife, Mary, have two children, Lacy and Eric. Outside of coaching, he enjoys following the New York Yankees, Indianapolis Colts, and Purdue athletics. -

Head Cross Country Coach
Christopher Sanford
Coach Sanford has been the head coach of the Mt. Vernon Middle School Cross Country program since 2023. One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is watching our student-athletes grow throughout the season, both as runners and as individuals. With the support of my assistant coaches, we strive to help every athlete improve and discover they are capable of more than they ever imagined. Cross Country is a challenging sport, and anyone willing to push themselves through a 3K race at their limit is "slightly crazy"—in the best possible way! Coach Sanford is has been an 8th grade math teacher at Mt. Vernon Middle School since 2022 after previously teaching at McCordsville Elementary. He earned his degrees from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and the University of West Georgia. Outside of school and coaching, he enjoys traveling, solving logic puzzles, playing games, and following baseball, football, and auto racing. -

7th Grade Head Volleyball Coach
Tatum Fitzgerald
Coach Fitzgerald is a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, where she was a varsity volleyball player. She continued her volleyball career at the University of Cincinnati, competing on the club volleyball team while earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Special Education through Western Governors University. Coach Fitzgerald has five years of coaching experience at the club volleyball level, where she has focused on helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game. She believes in creating a positive, encouraging environment that emphasizes teamwork, strong work ethic, and personal growth while helping players build a deeper understanding of volleyball. Outside of coaching, she is an Essential Skills teacher at Mt. Vernon Intermediate School, where she is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing card games, and cheering on volleyball whenever she gets the chance. Coach Fitzgerald is excited to be part of the Mt. Vernon athletic program and looks forward to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the court. -
7th Grade Head Baseball Coach
Kevin Shepherd
Coach Shepherd is a 2003 graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School and continued his baseball career at Marian University, where he played for the Knights. Coach Shepherd has 13 years of coaching experience at both the high school and youth levels. In 2019, he was a member of Hamilton Southeastern's coaching staff that captured the IHSAA State Championship. He is passionate about teaching the game of baseball while helping young athletes grow through hard work, discipline, and teamwork. Outside of coaching, he works as a Construction Manager for Fischer Homes, building homes throughout the McCordsville community. He and his wife, Katie, met while attending Marian University and have two children, Mason and Brynlee. As a family, they enjoy playing sports together, traveling to bucket-list destinations, and making their annual trip to Tuttle's Apple Orchard each fall. Coach Shepherd is excited to be part of the Mt. Vernon athletic program and looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of student-athletes both on and off the field. -
Head Chearleading Coach
Courtney Zumwalt
Coach Zumwalt has coached cheerleading at Mt. Vernon Middle School since 2021. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 2005 and later attended Ivy Tech Community College and Ball State University. Outside of coaching, Courtney works as a Medical Record Transcriptionist. Coach Zumwalt and her husband, Zach, met at Mt. Vernon and have been together for 23 years. Zach is a firefighter with the Buck Creek Township Fire Department. Together, they have three children who keep their family busy and actively involved in the community. Their daughter, Lexi, is a junior at Mt. Vernon High School and a Varsity Cheerleader. Their daughter, Tempe, is an 8th grader at Mt. Vernon Middle School and is entering her third year of middle school cheer. Both Lexi and Tempe also compete in All Star Cheer with JPAC Radiance. Their son, Rhett, is a 4th grader at Mt. Comfort and enjoys all things computers and technology. Cheerleading is a big part of the Zumwalt family's life, with much of their time spent at practices, games, and competitions. When they have a break from work, school, and cheer, one of their favorite things to do is visit Pensacola Beach, which they enjoy doing a couple of times each year. Coach Zumwalt is passionate about helping athletes grow both on and off the mat. Her goal is to develop stronger, more confident athletes while emphasizing hard work, accountability, teamwork, sportsmanship, and pride in representing Mt. Vernon Middle School. She looks forward to another successful season and helping each athlete reach their full potential.
